I have been in Virginia for 17 yrs and a few years back I began searching for an Egg Custard Pie. No bakery in Lynchburg could get it right. Too sugary....to sticky....juts not right. But ahhh....I took a chance on Lorraine Bakery based on recommendations and looking at the other wonderful goods they offered and THEY DID AWESOME. I could not get enough of the pie and am planning on ordering for Christmas as well.
This bakery is worth the trip!

a total treasure! everything I've had has been delicious. I'd drive all the way from amherst just for a real butter croissant. and there's always something special, like a strata with fresh veggies.
