I took my new puppy to the dog park located within the Athletic Area. Being a puppy she needs to have social interaction with other dogs. The d.p. is a great asset to the park's system.
3 stars because I love the trail system. The dog park is awesome, if no one else is there. I used to love the dog park for my 2 labs because it's fenced so I don't have to worry about them jumping in a mudhole and can choose if they visit the creek or not. After today I do not think I will visit the dog park unless my dogs are the only ones there. There are too many irresponsible owners with troubled dogs who visit this place just to socialize. They do not even pay attention to there dogs or pick up there droppings. I have two labs, one only cares about human affection and the other only cares about tennis balls. Too many times there has been an aggressive dog there who wouldn't leave them alone that ended up in a fight where the owner was basically not paying attention. Having labs, my dogs are the only ones that get hurt because they are being defensive not aggressive. Visiting this place has cost me at least $ 2000 after fights and kennel cough which both of my dogs had current vaccinations for.
Blackwater Creek hiking trail runs through park. The park has two athletic fields and a large and small dog park. It has a small picknic area.
Third time there and have always had good people and dogs. Nice area!
I frequently use the public dog park at this location. The area is very well maintained and is always looking good. This area has an area for the dogs and area for the humans. The dogs have water provided and a hose to be washed off if they get dirty. There is a creek alongside the property and the Blackwater Creek trail system runs right through the property giving many options for people to do.
