I have had multiple experiences with Centra since my bypass in 2010. The cardiac department is magnificent, the nurses, doctors, all of the staff are caring and professional. The emergency room gives mixed results. I have had good experiences there and I have also received very poor and unprofessional experiences there. One often is attended by Liberty students in training rather than experienced caregivers. I recall being in the ER with my second heart attack in 2013 and having to request that they have someone other than the student with the visibly shaking hands due to it being "my first time doing this on a person) place my IV .
Food was very good on the adolescent mental health unit . I was there for three days , after the cops forced me to go to the ER and the lady from the CSB determines if you are going . Any way the first night the doctor order something new and I didn't know until the next day when I woke up 16 hours later around lunch time . So I refused any meds after that until I spoke to a doctor . I had one group and they had me play with blocks and a 7 year old I was 17 at the time . Anyway I had a hearing the next day and the fancy lawyer said the cops used excessive force and he though the hospital was just trying to use my past history to justify me staying .I had a short stay .
I had both of my beautiful daughters here! The nurses and doctors are great! Dr. Cook delivered both of my babies!
I had outpatient surgery in February and the compassion and dedication the staff (as a whole) showed me and my family was exceptional!
I delivered all my babies here. My babies delivered their babies here!! Va. Baptist has the greatest nurses and doctors, and have since I delivered my FIRST child at age 15! I am now 45, and my youngest just delivered her 5th baby there. This staff Dr. Gregory, Dr. Baker, the interns working with Lynchburg Family Residency that assist here with the doctors supersede the word "bedside manner. " Thank you for always being great!!! Nurses, YOU TOO!!
