This place is a gem in Lynchburg and I love visiting this place, even if for just a cup of coffee and to browse. They are considered a local business so the money spent here stays within the community. To a child walking into this place, it must feel almost magical. The decor is unique and the atmosphere is a calming one. There are so many toys and areas of interest for children that there is something for every child, no matter what they are in to. Aside from that, this is the best teacher resource place in the area. They have so many learning materials for teachers and children that are not available anywhere else in this area. The choices for classroom decor is awesome! Givens is also a bookstore with a great selection of new books and a great upstairs section for used books. Check it out for yourself and you will not be disappointed, especially if you have children or need classroom supplies. For all the teachers out there, they also laminate for much cheaper than most other places. The cafe in the back (The Drowsy Poet) has great coffee also!

Whether you want coffee, a good book, a unique toy, or school materials, there's no better place to shop, than Givens. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Shopping in a brick and mortar store helps the community, but also gives you the hands-on experience you really need to make good decisions. Plus, the kids love the giant train and pond outside.
