Amtrak is a joke. Their system ask for one way vs round trip then gives you price for one way. Usually more expensive than flying. Trains are late. Why would you do it. The experience is cool but you have to wait and pay more for it.
Second time on a train, still nervous about it because airports have drilled into me that maybe I'm always doing something wrong. amtrak staff were very helpful and patient. Really relaxed train station.

train left on time but no f*cking announcement from the conductor that we are like an hour behind. the train staff are f*cking nasty as hell. not asking you to be friendly but got damn dont be rude! these assh*les dont even want to answer valid questions, such as...how long before we get to xyz since um, were supposed to be there NOW?! i will NEVER ever do this to myself again. 4-5 hours on the yrain to get from va to DC. i would have just rented a damn car and been home in 3 hours if id known it was goimg to be this type of experience. Fire the entire staff of the regional 176 lynchburg to dc. they should be cleaning toilets for a living
Nice to have if you're traveling to the area. Not very remarkable otherwise.
